Maia Alexandra is a multi-award winning Belly Dance performer, teacher, Fire performer, and Yoga teacher with Yin specialization based in Buffalo, New York.  A dynamic dancer with a flair for fun, Maia is best known for her on stage charisma and technical ability. The 2010 “Ms. International Ambassador of Bellydance” has been a featured dancer and instructor many prestigious festivals and events including Rakkasah’s Spring Caravan, the Las Vegas Bellydance Intensive, the Art of the Belly festival, Unmata’s Blood Moon Regale,  Saqra’s Showcase, and many more.

Maia began to study dance at the age of four.  In her career, she has been a member of several professional dance troupes and embraces styles as divergent as Jazz, Modern, Ballet, and even Hula Hoop as well as her love of Bellydance, Fire, and Yin Yoga.  A natural stage performer, and her enchanting style is beloved by audiences everywhere she entertains.

With her delightful dance partner, Kadri, together they formed the duet Darkly Sparkly. They combined decades of dance experience to create a dynamic Belly Dance duo that had elements of American Cabaret, Tribal Fusion, contemporary technique and modern edge. 

Maia Alexandra’s style is a blending of  West Coast dynamics and solid technique. She brings back the old school American cabaret feel with a fresh new perspective, bridging the gap with a sense of humor and savvy moves!

Maia Alexandra is available for performances large and small, as well as teaching workshops, private lessons, and regular classes in BellyDance and Yoga.  She is based in Western New York but travels extensively.
